Free Comic Book Day @ Outsider Comics

It’s here once again: FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!
We will be open extra early at 11 to give out FREE COMICS all day long! Plus come for sales, surprises, and special guests! Come early because free comics are first come first served! As usual, masks are required. We have some available but of course it’s always best if you bring your own!
Guest Signing Schedule
Dana Simpson – 11am to 2pm
Foretold by Bill Watterson himself, Dana Simpson is a woman who draws a comic strip about a little girl and her magical friend. Best known for Phoebe and Her Unicorn, those of us of a certain vintage may know her better from Ozy and Millie. We’re happy to have Dana here signing her books from 11 to (at least) 2! We’ll have copies of Phoebe and Her Unicorn (all 21 volumes), Ozy and Millie, and the Eisner-nominated anthology The Out Side for purchase at Outsider if you don’t happen to have your own yet.
Jordan Alsaqa – 11:30am to 1:30pm
Seattle-based Palestinian-American Jordan Alsaqa is best known for his Cooking With Monsters series, an excellent queer YA culinary combat manga series that combines exciting shonen action with ridiculous cooking manga tropes, set in a magical school without a straight white teen boy as the lead. We’re excited to have Jordan back at Outsider to introduce new readers to his awesome series!
Colleen Frakes – 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Born and raised in Washington, Colleen is a Seattle-based comic write and artist that has been making webcomics, zines, and print comics for decades. Local indie comic fans may be familiar with her comics Iron Scars, Woman King, Tragic Relief, or her recent traditionally published all ages graphic novel Knots. Colleen was part of our first Zine Fest! and we’re glad to have her back!

Free Comics Lineup
We will be limiting free comics to 2 per person until 2PM, after which it’ll be 5 comics per person for the rest of the day. Even with these limits though we only have 10 copies of some of these titles so they’ll go quick. If you want specific comics, come early! We open at 11!
